How to start a dating crew

A dating crew is not a mailing list. It is the small set of friends who will sit at the same table, vote on the same houses, and leave together.

Ask people who mean it

Start with two or three friends, not everyone you have ever had a drink with. The right person is someone who will answer the group thread, appear in the photos, and tell you honestly if a match feels off. A maybe is a no until they pick a night.

Say the ask plainly. You are looking for another friend group to meet in public, and you want them in the decision, not as decoration. People opt out faster when the plan is clear, which is what you want.

Agree on three things before you publish

Agree on the photos, the neighborhood, and the kind of plan. Every face in the crew should be in the pictures. The neighborhood should be a place you will actually travel to. The plan should be one mood: dinner, a walk, drinks, dancing, karaoke, or late food.

If those three stall, stop. A crew that cannot choose a photo will not survive a vote about another house. Fix the disagreement inside the table before Tonight shows you anyone else.

Then sit down and look outward

On Grouping, that seat is Table. Invite the crew, set the night, and only then browse other seated houses. Chat with another house waits until both sides match. You are not collecting private conversations on behalf of friends who have not voted.

Keep the same people for the first few tries. Swapping a member every week makes the profile a fiction. When someone leaves, update the photos and the headcount the same day. The other crew should see the people who are actually coming.

Questions people ask

Can I start a crew by myself?
You can open a table, but a house that chats has at least two people. The product is the crew, not a solo profile with a plus-one left blank.
What if my friends live in different neighborhoods?
Pick one area you will all travel to, and write that area down. A profile that says “anywhere” is a profile that will flake.
